Comparison of Water Saturation Models Based on Well Logging Data: A Case Study of MX Field in Malay Basin

One of the primary methods to determine water saturation is logging measurement which uses models. Archie`s interpretation model estimate in clean formations has successfully been useful over years. However, shaly sand formation this yields inaccurate estimates due effects. Many models have developed; unfortunately; there no unique works best for all as subsurface information may be limited and sands vary. Nevertheless, some provide more accurate values a formation. Thus, study aimed alternative by using Dual-Water, Waxman-Smits, Indonesian, Modified Simandoux The results showed that Indonesian Model gave closest with than 80% similarities compared analysis thus should considered Therefore, it hoped findings can help improve knowledge on selection suited nature similar wells, especially other hydrocarbon exploration Malay Basin.
